November in a Nutshell

Well, now that November is over I thought I'd better post a few pictures! :)
After the Halloween festivities the kiddos decorated some fall cookies in Bossier!

David preferred licking all the frosting off

~~~~~~~~~~~~
After we left Louisiana, we drove to Ben Wheeler and spent some time with Jamon's mom! She did a most awesome favor for us! She knew someone who keeps horses and they agreed to let Molly come ride one!!!!!!!
David wanted a turn too!
This is Cliff! He was a super sweet horse and was incredibly gentle! I didn't think we were going to be able to get the kids off him!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think we may have been to the park for the last time this year! It has gotten c.o.l.d. and it is very windy here (who knew?) Our poor thin southern blood just can't handle it yet! The kids had fun but we didn't spend much time there!

Halloween!

We took our first trip back home last week, just in time for trunk or treat and Halloween!
Poor Jamon stayed at home (yay for school!) He went to our ward's trunk or treat as Ace Ventura dressed from THIS clip!

Apparently Molly IS learning how to share!

Trick or treating to our favorite neighbor!

A Barbie princess and two Angry Birds!
In retrospect, Molly's costume is perfect! She ended up being the blue bird because I could not find a long sleeve yellow shirt in her size! For those of you unfamiliar with the game: The one blue bird will explode into three blue birds - which is how many little girls I feel like I am chasing most days! :)
Two bestest buddies!

My costume!
The attempts to get pictures of the three of us together were unsuccessful!
So just imagine my smiling face underneath this!

Rainy Day at the Zoo

After Jamon's latest test we took the kids to the zoo for some Daddy Time! It was beautiful! (This mid-west weather is growing on me!)
David's big cheesy grin and Molly refusing to look at the camera!

This sheep became very attached to Jamon! He followed us and you couldn't help but pet him and scratch behind his ears! It was almost dog-like! We will have to go visit him often! (Molly and David rheaally want a dog, but as of now that is a no go)

And within (seriously) 10 minutes it was POURING! We took shelter under the tram station which, much to the munchkin's delight, let lots of water in! They were soaking wet by the time the storm ended.

And then we took the tram to see the gorillas! And do you know what I discovered? I do not really like monkeys or apes or whatever. And I am definitely an animal lover. We saw gorillas, chimps, orangutans (there was a baby orangutan which was super cute - but they grow up) and I am at least mildly creep-ed out by all of them. I never realized this before. Maybe to many Congo movies or Planet of the Apes Previews. :)

But the kids love them!

Anyone else feeling uneasy? ;)

Molly's "MagicHorn"

While David takes his nap, Molly and I have "school" She is incredibly obsessed with school and is convinced that everyone except her gets to go to school. She will be so excited next year! :)

Anyways, I found a stained glass unicorn craft for us! She calls it her "magic-horn" and it hangs in my kitchen window. It makes her so happy.

I think that's one of the blessings of having kids.
They remind you to find joy in unusual places.

Our Playground

One of the reasons we chose the townhouse that we live in is because there is a wonderful little playground about 100 yards from our front door. It's completely shaded (not that we have needed shade lately - the weather has been positively fall-like).

It is perfect for afternoon adventures!

Molly climbing the little "mountain" that is along one side of the playground

David finding rocks

Molly prefers to skip the actual playground and play with her horsies in the sandbox/volleyball court.

Molly's sandy toes

And Jamon doing what he does .......studying!

Molly's Horses

My little girl has become obsessed. Obsessed people. We look for horsie books at the library (and at Sam's Club), horsie shirts and nightgowns, horsie pictures, movies, and she is very concerned that I do not know any songs about horsies.

This little obsessed girl had her little horsie dreams come true. All for $3.

Happiest girl in the world!

KC Zoo

Molly looking through the "helascope"

Riding on the carousel! We actually bought a season pass (the zoo is about 2 miles from our house) and for like $30 more bucks you get unlimited rides on the carousel, train, tram, boat, and ski lift sky "thingy". Totally worth it. Molly would ride on the carousel all day if I let her!

Looking at the polar bear, Nakita

David liked the train!

Jamon and S. on the sky thing. It takes you over some of the African animals! (No worries just leaf eaters! :)

Molly looking at the giraffes and zebras

Annnnd riding the polar bear.

I'm excited about being able to go often! I love zoos (not to mention the kiddos!) It will be wonderful once this so called "fall" comes! :)

KC Fun #2

We also had a chance to visit a couple of the LDS historical sites while Jamon's family was in town!

This is the contractor's sign on the fence around the temple. Pretty cool!

Here is our beautiful temple! The dedication is scheduled for next spring!

We also stopped by the liberty jail! Molly was absolutely terrified of the wax figures inside (I can't blame her, I don't like them either!) I would definitely recommend visiting if anyone is ever in the area! It fantastic!
