Molly's Horses

My little girl has become obsessed. Obsessed people. We look for horsie books at the library (and at Sam's Club), horsie shirts and nightgowns, horsie pictures, movies, and she is very concerned that I do not know any songs about horsies.

This little obsessed girl had her little horsie dreams come true. All for $3.

Happiest girl in the world!

KC Zoo

Molly looking through the "helascope"

Riding on the carousel! We actually bought a season pass (the zoo is about 2 miles from our house) and for like $30 more bucks you get unlimited rides on the carousel, train, tram, boat, and ski lift sky "thingy". Totally worth it. Molly would ride on the carousel all day if I let her!

Looking at the polar bear, Nakita

David liked the train!

Jamon and S. on the sky thing. It takes you over some of the African animals! (No worries just leaf eaters! :)

Molly looking at the giraffes and zebras

Annnnd riding the polar bear.

I'm excited about being able to go often! I love zoos (not to mention the kiddos!) It will be wonderful once this so called "fall" comes! :)

KC Fun #2

We also had a chance to visit a couple of the LDS historical sites while Jamon's family was in town!

This is the contractor's sign on the fence around the temple. Pretty cool!

Here is our beautiful temple! The dedication is scheduled for next spring!

We also stopped by the liberty jail! Molly was absolutely terrified of the wax figures inside (I can't blame her, I don't like them either!) I would definitely recommend visiting if anyone is ever in the area! It fantastic!

Revenge of the butter knife!

We had a little bit of an emergency yesterday .......
I was off trying to keep the living room from looking like a disaster area and Molly runs to me saying she cut her finger. And guess what!? She did! And she did a really good job of it too!
From what I could understand she found a butter knife in the kitchen (a butter knife, who knew?) And attempted to cut an apple. She's got a nice deep cut right between her pointer and middle fingers on her left hand. After some phone calls and protests from Molly I decides not to take her in to see of she needed stitches. ( Think "NOOOO not the Doctor") I really think stitches would have been more traumatic than the original injury. ANYWAYS I finally convinced her to let me use the "doctor stuff" - also known as a first aid kit - to clean her up and tape her fingers together.
She really was pretty brave and even got a treat for being good while I took care of her hand. She even looked up at me and said "Mama I never want to do that again!" And I agreed.
She has also forbidden Jamon to become a doctor. Which is a shame because we've already moved and everything ........ :)

Kansas City Fun #1

Last weekend Jamon's Mom, sister, and nephew came to visit us! We had a pretty eventful time! Wednesday evening the school treated us to a picnic and pro soccer game. Sporting Kansas City beat Real Salt Lake City 2 - 0! I never have been a soccer fan; but I have been converted! It was so much fun! Jamon is definitely a soccer fan; so he had a great time too! I hope we are able to go to another game soon!

This is David having a mini panic attack because I passed him down to Jamon's sister and Mom. (On a side note: I assumed since I am home that the "velcro baby" syndrome would subside some; this is not the case.)

Our nephew and Molly. He was such a great help to have around! Molly LOVES him!

KC is in blue and SLC in red

And going off on another tangent; when we got here everyone keeps apologizing for how "hot" and "humid" it is here. Pssht. ;) I smile and nod but holy cow! Missouri had no idea what hot and humid means! This game was during their "heat wave"; let me tell you it was beautiful! First of all, if we were in LA or TX I would have needed to change clothes after we walked from the car to the stadium! Even before the sun went down there was a good breeze and couldn't have been more than 80 out. I even got a chill once! In JULY! I am certainly not complaining! It was 67 this morning when I woke up! Who knew August could be pleasant?! :)

White Coat Ceremony

Last Thursday was Jamon's White Coat Ceremony, which is exactly what it sounds like! To paraphrase what the speakers said; this is the official start of his med school career and a reminder of the qualities that physicians should posses (compassion, integrity, the ability to make people wait half naked in small rooms.....)
Walking back to the car to head to the reception! I think a lot of Jamon's class mates will think he has three kids! Our nephew S. came up to visit us, mostly, I believe, because the school gave out tickets to a MLS game....but I can deal with that! Molly and David had a blast with him!

Taking the Oath...of something or another.... don't quite remember..... :)

Class of 2015!

First day of actual class was today! I'm sure it is going great! Good luck guys!

Catching up....

Sooooo much has happened. I'll just start with Molly's 3rd birthday! We had a blast at the North Bossier Spray Park!
