David Rawlins

David Rawlins
1 February 2010
7:53 am
7 pounds 9 ounces
19.5 inches

Jamon and I went got to the hospital at 530 (Holy cow it was early!) on Monday and a couple of hours later! Viola! A beautiful baby boy! :)

We named him David, after Jamon's father who passed away 7 years ago - His birthday was January 29 (we were going to do the c-section that day but my doc was going out of town :(
Rawlins is a family name from my side - I love it but don't think I would use it as a first name - and Jamon says it's too country for us anyways!

David is a skinny guy! Even some of the newborn pants I've bought him are HUGE around the waist! He doesn't like to be fiddled with - once he is comfy in one position he fusses if you move him! He is definitely an opinionated little man!

He came home to a house full of sick people - so on Feb 10 I took him to his doctor because he started coughing, she sent us to the ER in Schumpert, and (after a few hours) we were sent to the pediatric ICU. :( He had tested positive for RSV. The doc at the hospital said it was just a precaution because he was so young. He actually did really well! It was a loooong two days though. Its no fun being in the hospital! I was so happy to bring the little guy home!

As for his big sister, Molly can't get enough of him! She is always concerned that I am going to leave him somewhere! I hear "Uh-Oh Baby!" a lot! She probably gives him 100 kisses everyday and would LOVE to hold him, but obviously that doesn't happen! She has been a great helper - loves throwing dirty diapers in the trash can!

We are super excited to have our little man at home!

Christmas 2009

So I am being a smidge lazy - but oh well~ more pictures to come soon!
We had Christmas early with Mom, Dad, Heather, and Ava. Mom and Dad got Molly a little Fisher Price slide and SHE LOVES IT! Ha ha It is still in the living room and provides lots and lots of entertainment!!! :)

While we were at Grandma Blood's it SNOWED! Molly really wasn't a huge fan of it - but we made her stand outside for a bit so I could take a picture!

On Christmas Eve Molly and all her cousins made sugar cookies for Santa! I got lots of great pictures - but like I said - laziness! They had a lot of fun and they were some tasty cookies!!!

More of Christmas and Blake's wedding soon!

Ghost of Christmas Past?!

Last Sunday we were all hanging around chit-chatting with Mom and Dad when this little "ghost" came out into the living room!

Molly was COVERED in baby powder.
I think Ava helped her a bit - she didn't have nearly as much on her!
It was so funny!

Merry Christmas!

Catching Up!

This is what happens when a Daddy tears the tabs off of a diaper and doesn't feel like getting a new one ( I tried to explain to him they are about 25 cents apiece . . . . )

Things have been good lately! Jamon took his last final today! Hooray!!!! So excited to have him home for a few weeks!

Molly is being a busy little girl ( and a mountain goat - she climbs up EVERYTHING she can) She is learning new words and it always surprises me when she says something new! She loves to "read" books and color! She even sings with us at church! What a cutie pie!

I haven't been doing much - besides baby makin! :) I can't believe how fast the pregnancy has gone by! Our new little guy will be here either Jan 29 or Feb1 depending on the doctor's schedule! Molly likes to come and give my belly kisses! Although she likes to kiss everyone elses belly's too! Even tried to kiss her own one time! That didn't work out so well! She wants to sleep with a couple of the little onesies! She carries them around all day saying "Baby Baby!" She will be a great big sister!!!

Hopefully Christmas-y pictures soon!

Tornado!

WHEW! It has been a very eventful two weeks!
We went to the corn maize, halloween, and went to the fair!
AND of course the tornado on the 29th!

Mom, Ava, Molly, and I had driven to Longview to pick up my Nana and bring her back to visit. Dad told us there was going to be some bad weather and to drive careful - no big deal right?!
When we got to Marshall there was a LOT of rain (going about 45 on i-20) but then it let up!
Jamon calls and asks if we want him to start making dinner (of course!) and then calls back about 10 minutes later "Holy Crap Meaghan, something has happened!" :) It takes us about an hour and a half to get from the Red River Bridge to our house (maybe 5 miles) It was crazy in our neighborhood! The police told Jamon and Dad to turn around - that they couldn't get to our house (they did get there tho) and we had to explain that we HAD to drive on Brownlee Road to get to our house! Did I say Heather slept through the whole thing?!?!

Anyways - it was crazy! We lost 7 trees - one really big pecan tree that thankfully fell away from the house. Two trees hit our little house - one pine tree right through the roof. Mom and Dad had a little flooding in two side rooms that are about 6 inches lower than the rest of the house. There is a lot of roof damage on both houses. The columns on the front of the houses are moved one way or the other! The boat's windshield was broken. The big pecan tree fell on our trampoline :(

The "coolest" damage that I saw was our neighbor has an RV parked in his front yard - after the tornado it was on it's side - in the backyard! (and it hit the roof of his neighbor on the way!)

I am just really happy that it wasn't worse - we got off very lucky that no one was hurt (I don't think anyone in the city was actually!) and that we can still live in our home!

It won't let me load pictures right now :( but I will get some on here sometime soon!
