Early Birthday Present

Molly is a little biker chick! Since we were going to be in ID for her birthday, we decided to give her her "big" present before we left!  It worked out well because her favorite person was there too! We were all excited that Pop, Lolli, Ava, Heather, and Logan all came to KC
before we made the trek to ID!

We were given a 12" bike for Molly and she had totally outgrown it! Clearance shopping at KMart we found a $100 Schwinn 20" bike for $35! Can't beat that!

 Ava and Poppa

David likes to scoot in his tricycle, but hasn't gotten the whole peddling thing down yet!

We had a very long hill behind our house that Molly liked to ride down. She got going a LOT faster with the bigger bike though! The first time she went, Jamon tried to catch her and she just ducked her head and went into speed racer mode. I wish I'd gotten a picture, but I was way to busy laughing!

More summer fun coming soon!

One Year Down!

Jamon is 1/4th of a Doctor! Can you believe it?! This has been the longest and shortest year of our marriage! We have both grown so much and really have learned to be a team.
Budgeting has never been a strong suit for me (just ask my parents, they dealt with my teenage money handling :) but thankfully Jamon is a tightwad cheapskate we'll just say he's frugal! I tease him about it, but I am very grateful for what he brings to our marriage. The saying "opposites attract" is very true for us and we are able to work together and learn from each other!
I am also sooooo thankful that we will have this summer for him to spend with Molly and David! Next summer will be his last one before rotations and "real life" set in. Jamon wakes up at an unholy hour (5 am) to study for a little while and head to school and usually is gone until 7pm (later if there is a test!) The kids use to run into my room in the morning looking for Jamon and would be so disappointed when he wasn't there. Now, it is one of my favorite things to wake them up and tell them that Daddy is downstairs waiting for them!
Mostly, I am ridiculously proud of Jamon! Saturday night we made pizza and I had a little sentimental moment: when we first met and started dating, Jamon worked two jobs, one of which was at Pizza Hut. And I will admit I was a smidgen judgey of that.... Yes, I was a dumb teenager. Jamon loved the free / discounted pizza though!  And it just got me thinking of how far he/we have come. He was told that he would have *such* a hard time getting in to med school and that he would have *such* a hard time once he was in. And you know what? It was hard. And Jamon was amazing. He worked his tail off and he has finished his first year! I am so proud of him. He continually was finding ways to improve his study habits, grades, and get better. Way to go babe!

And now for our mostly sweet little kiddos!

Can you believe how handsome this kid is? Seriously. :)

And our beautiful little girl! Trying to not look into the sunlight!

We planned on going to the park on Saturday and found an EcoFest! It looked entertaining (and they were giving away T-shirts! Who says no to that?!) The kids had a lot of fun and we still got to play around out side!

Molly learning how they clean up oil spills....

And for your viewing pleasure..... Eco Elvis.

Ice Cream Aquifers! Woowho! David reeeally liked this part! :)

KC Chalk Walk

The weekends after Jamon's tests are the best! (significantly less studying is going on ;) This past weekend we took the kids to explore Chalk Walk before Jamon volunteered in the Health Screening Tent!

We went in the morning, so a lot of the artist's were just getting started! It was a lot of fun to see what people can create with just a side walk and a pack of pastels!

A Kansas City Chief

Waterfall

Wanted Poster

And some super cute cartoon girls!

The kids enjoyed looking at the drawings but REALLY wanted to play, of course!

"No I will not look at the camera...."

Do you like that sassy elbow?

ANNND a chalk cow. Now who doesn't need one of those?!

Easter 2012

I'd planned on ditching Jamon and heading to LA & TX for Easter, but due to $3.70 gas that didn't happen. :(

It all worked out well though, it was great to spend a few "Study Free" days with Jamon! He gets home just in time for bed time 6 days of the week so I know the kids enjoyed having their Dad around!

We spend the Saturday before Easter at a BBQ with some friends and had so much fun! Easter Egg Hunt included!

Getting lined up for the big hunt!

Molly's goofy "excited" face :)

David's "I couldn't care less" face

Are there eggs over here?

Jelly beans!

Loving the swings!

Easter Morning was fun too! Molly was so excited that the Easter Bunny was coming to visit her and leave her treats in her eggs!

All the goodies!

Trying to open the paper mache' eggs!
( I got all crafty -thanks Pinterest - and paper mache'd  THIRTY Easter eggs! I over estimate my dedication to these crafts! And then the kids couldn't open them because they were too strong :P Who knew? Three layers of tissue paper with strings to rip. Oh well. I will probably make one or two per kid next year, but never that many again!)

My [mostly] sweet girl Molly

The only picture I got of these two stinkers together! :)

David and Jamon

I love this one! In a million years when Jamon has an office, this picture will be in it!

We are moving this summer and I am so happy! BUT I am so sad about leaving ^this^  We have so much green space! This is all right out our back door!

David's over all attitude towards having his picture taken in his Easter clothes.

Molly and Me!

And then Monday came and Jamon went  back to school! We will see him again in 8 weeks! :)

Jamon's Birthday!

We celebrated Jamon's 28th birthday last month! - On a related note, does anyone else completely forget how old they are? Any time anyone asks how old I am (or Jamon) my mind goes blank for at least 10 seconds! It's pathetic. :)

Molly decided that her daddy needed a pirate party! So we got hats, swords, and had some fun!

A duffel bag from Molly and David for his Saturday morning basketball games

Ties from my parents

And a card from my Nana
(She always makes Jamon feel special that she remembers his birthday!)

Happy Birthday!
